This is an assessment scale I developed for a general classification of medications to be included in my book Top 200 Medications on the NCLEX –
Though, I agree that all medications are acute requiring some degree of assessment and monitoring. This is merely an adaptive scale developed and based on how acute a medication is on these specific unique characteristics.
This is not an all inclusive scale and does not supercede your own practice and facility policy.
